Course description

The Institute offers Fiber Optics programs ranging from 1 – 13 weeks, in traditional and hybrid formats. The Fiber Optics for Professionals program coursework is available online nationwide and concluded by an intensive one-week of on-campus hands-on practice, with tuition including travel, meals, and temporary lodging. The Fiber Optics for Professionals (FFP) program prepares ATA College students to be competent in Fiber Optics technology through classroom training and practical hands-on application. The student will learn cable preparation (patch panel or splice closure), fusion splicing, optical loss, reflection testing, and Optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) operations. Our program is designed to prepare you for the CFOT exam. By the end of the class, you’ll have the skills to install, terminate, and test multimode or single-mode fiber optic networks to existing standards. Plus, our training ensures you’ll be able to do so effectively and efficiently.
