Course description
Skilled fiber optic technicians are in demand as the broadband industry expands throughout the region. Position yourself for a career in this growing field by completing our one-semester Fiber Optic Fundamentals Certificate.
Learn fiber optic basics, OSHA 10 training, fiber optic networks and components, installation and testing, fiber cable types, and what structured cabling is and how it is used.
Students will be able to take the CFOT (Certified Fiber Optic Technician) test to become FOA-certified fiber optic technicians.
Gain hands-on experience in the lab including cable prep, cleaning, termination, splicing, testing, and safety.
